Anthrocon 2024 with Alex

OH SNAP! It’s been a while folks! I hope everyone is doing well these last… Seriously…years!? Well, that’s okay. It’s time to get the ball rolling. This is everyone’s favorite feline business person MrAMP! But you can all call me Alex! Now to jump back into this with a report of Anthrocon 2024! It goes back to Monday, July 1, 2024. We left around 9:00 AM as the window guy was late due to a broken tire. We left thereafter and started to drive all the way up to Pennsylvania. We arrived at Fort Leonard Wood to stay on the Military Base. I enjoyed the pool and the Waffle House before turning in for the night. On Tuesday, July 2, 2024, we made it to St. Louis and finally…FINALLY did the helicopter ride. It was amazing. Seriously, some sweet pictures were taken. Thanks to Gateway Helicopter Rides! Book your tour today!. We continued on driving up until we got to Wright Patterson. Stayed the night in a double room. So nice.
Wednesday, July 3, 2024, was a day of driving and hitting the old neighborhoods, starting with Wheeling, Virginia. Fish and chicken sandwich combinations is the best! Finally made it to Ambridge, Pennsylvania, visited my aunt, and hit up some amazing restaurants. Thursday, July 4, 2024, was BUSY and EXCITING at the same time!!! I went the baseball game with the new rule changes to how long pitchers can take. After the game went into overtime, I hit up Anthrocon, got my badge, and met up with the gang before retiring early to see the fireworks, which didn’t happen due to the storms, and to get ready for ANTHROCON!!!
AND NOW FOR ANTHROCON!!! As you may have guessed, I was a vendor. Chalodillo joined me as a Dealer’s Assistant. We got to work setting up the table.
Sorry by the way for the two heavy crates of stuff! Prior to the main event, we met up with a few people, like KageKitsune (the cool fellow that makes all those magnetic standees). Friday was just jammed back busy and chaotic with the chaos and customers. So…so many people were stopping by to say hi and to check out the amazing standees. After the first day, I and Chalodillo met up with Tom from TwoKind, SageSaga from Yosh!, and Lann for some meatballs and cake. I was also able to chill with Mtapp and SavageShark at the convention. Saturday was slightly less busy due to the Furry Parade. I sadly wasn’t able to go see it due to the vendor. After the Dealer’s Room closed, I met up quite a few webcomic artists at the Webcomic Panel, such as Jyinxx, and then in the Artist Room where I met up with a few other peeps. Enjoyed some stellar pizza and chatted with quite a few folks. Sunday was slow-ish as most people spent their cash. Spent the day chatting with Chalo and Idders while watching them both draw amazing artwork. When it was over, I had to quickly leave as I promised my dad that we would meet up with his cousin at Mehlman’s. After that, we arrived late at Wright Patterson. A serious of funny events, wrecks, and traffic ensued and I made it home a few hours before work the next day. It was a fun convention. I hope to see you all next year.
